CHRIST IS THE POWER OF GOD AND THE WISDOM OF GOD

1 Corinthians 1:23, 24, Paul says that Jesus is the power of God and the wisdom of God.

He is the Power of God! All the miracles that are recorded in the Gospels reveal the Power of God in Him. They sound forth a clear message that Jesus is God! Jesus has power over His creation. For Colossians 1:16 affirms: "For by him all things were created; things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities, all things were created by him and for him."

He has power over nature. He demonstrated this when He walked on water, calmed a storm, and multiplied the loaves and fish. He has power to forgive sins. He said to the paralytic as recorded in Mark 2, "But that you may know the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins....He said to the paralytic, ‘I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.’"

He is the Power of God! He defied death and demonstrated His power over man’s greatest enemy by raising three from the dead and by His own resurrection. And Paul would write in Romans 1:4, "And who through the Spirit of holiness was declared with power to be the Son of God by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord."

He is the Wisdom of God! Brethren, we don’t know anything until we know the Lord Jesus Christ! Jesus told His disciples in Matthew 13:11, "The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you." And praise God, they are recorded by them for us in Scripture.

And thus we read in Colossians 2:9, "For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and have been given fullness in Christ."

He is the Power and the Wisdom of God. That’s Who He is, and so much more. And our task is to tell the world Who He is. Our task is to stir the interest of spiritually hungry people and get them to investigate the claims of Jesus. We want our generation to ask, "Who is the Son of Man?"
